Dear Community Members,
Welcome to our inaugural newsletter! As the president of our non-profit cybersecurity community, I am excited to share some remarkable updates with all of you.
Firstly, I sincerely thank our dedicated volunteers (board members and committee members) and community members; your unwavering commitment to our mission has been truly inspiring. Together, we have achieved significant milestones that truly deserve celebration.
One of our standout initiatives is the Campus Cyber Talk Series. This series brings cybersecurity conversations to academic institutions, fostering knowledge exchange and promoting awareness among the next generation of professionals. We have received fantastic engagement and positive feedback, making a lasting impact on our community and beyond.
I am proud to inform you all that our chapter has obtained legal non-profit status in Ontario and Canada. This achievement strengthens our commitment to serving the community and opens new opportunities for collaboration and engagement. It is a testament to our collective efforts and dedication.
Additionally, we have recently completed our membership validation process, which allows existing members to renew their commitment to a more active and vibrant community. Your continued involvement is crucial as we address evolving challenges in the cybersecurity landscape.
We are grateful for our generous sponsors and partners: Ferris Technics, Manulife, Semperis, Avanade, Security Compass, EY, Oppos, and Trend Micro. Your unwavering support has been invaluable in our mission. We are incredibly grateful for your contributions, which have enabled us to make a meaningful impact and provide our community members with vital resources.
Moving forward, we remain committed to nurturing a collaborative and inclusive environment. We will continue organizing engaging events and knowledge-sharing sessions to empower our community members with the skills and expertise needed in this ever-changing cybersecurity landscape.
Once again, I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your unwavering support, dedication, and contributions. Together, we are creating a safer digital world.
Warm regards,
Raphael Adeyemo
