Founded in 2013, the (ISC)² Toronto Chapter is an official chapter of (ISC)². Based in Toronto, our purpose is to provide educational opportunities for management, operational and technical aspects of the information security field, and to support the mission of (ISC)².
Tyson has over 25 years of information technology experience with the majority of his experience in the Canadian investment industry. He has held positions such as the Director, IT with Canadian Financial Services firms, Director, IT Operations with the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada, Pre-Sales Engineer and Network Administrator. His expertise is in Information Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, and IT Operations. Tyson is passionate about raising cybersecurity awareness and collaborating with industry groups and individuals to strengthen the Canadian cybersecurity landscape. He is also committed to the education of at-risk groups about online privacy and safety through the Center for Cyber Safety and Education.
Nelson has over 30 years of experience in Information technology and has experience across a range of high-tech companies ranging from startup to large enterprise high-tech companies. He’s held a variety of leadership and technical roles including Director of IT, Global Information Security Officer, Sales Engineer, Security Evangelist, etc. with the underlying focus of helping businesses achieve their security goals.
In addition to volunteering his time with (ISC)² Toronto chapter, Nelson also helps promote the Safe & Secure Online program offered by the Canadian Center for Cyber Safety and Education (CCSE) by delivering the training program to public schools as well as adult programs in the Greater Toronto community.
Rizwan is an Information Security and IT Risk Management professional currently working for one of the ‘Big 5’ banks in Canada. His goal is to reinforce the bridge between academia and the industry while promoting the profession.
Rizwan’s areas of interest also include application of Artificial Intelligence in Information Security particularly user analytics and behaviours, and threat analytics. He also provides mentoring services as part of TRIEC (Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council) to internationally-qualified new immigrants to Canada.
Victoria is an Information Security professional currently employed at a “Big 5” bank, and is a CPA and an (ISC)² Associate. As a Director of the (ISC)² Toronto Chapter Board, she hopes to connect the numerous and diverse information security groups across the GTA in order to advance the profession together. Victoria is also a Canadian Advisory Committee member through the Center for Cyber Safety and Education where she hopes to cultivate sound cyber safety knowledge in schools across the Greater Toronto Area.
